One of the biggest complaints I hear about Google Alerts is that it floods your mailbox with messages. This problem is now solved. The latest update to AlertRank lets you create a detailed filter for just the alerts you want to receive by email. You can now specify the minimum AlertRank quality score, select individual search terms that should and shouldn’t be sent by email, and decide which page features must be present. You can also set filter settings for the combined RSS feed, and daily Excel summary spreadsheet.

If you just want the most important alerts to reach you by email, you can set the minimum quality score to a high value, like 8. This means that less important alerts won’t clog your mailbox. All of the alerts will still be available in your account at AlertRank.com.
Not only can you filter the alerts to reduce the email flow, you can also turn off email delivery entirely using our new delivery page. This page lets you selectively turn on or off the email, feed, and spreadsheet delivery.
