Restaurants need to stay on top of what’s being said about them and their competition online. This public Google Alerts account gives you an idea of how this can be done for my favorite restaurant, Border Cafe in Harvard Square . This account is not meant to be exhaustive, but it does demonstrate the type of alerts you should be creating if you manage a restaurant or are responsible for restaurant marketing for clients. If you aren’t familiar with the search syntax used in these alerts, you can review our Google Alerts Tutorial. These search terms would be used to monitor the restaurant’s reputation, and produce early warning about changing consumer attitudes.
