How it Works: Alert Emails

AlertRank reduces email overload

When you use AlertRank, you continue to receive your alerts by email.

But the emails you receive from AlertRank have a number of improvements over the originals sent out by Google Alerts:

  1. Each alert includes the AlertRank value of the alert's source to help you identify the most important alerts.
  2. Additional notes about the source help you decide how to deal with the alert.
  3. When multiple alerts are included within a single email, they are sorted by their source's AlertRank, so you can read the most influential alerts first.

To help you reduce the information overload caused by too many alerts, the Alert Management tab in your account lets you define the type of alerts you want to receive by email. You can set a minimum AlertRank value for any alert that is included in an email, and also limit emails to just those alerts that have the type of Web page features you are interested in.

Regardless of these filter settings, all of your alerts are still stored on our server. You can review these past alerts at any time.
