How it Works: Google Alerts Dashboard

Analytics - Google Alerts for the right side of your brain

Google Alerts is a great way to collect huge amounts of words very quickly, but sometimes it is easier to see what has happened and what you should do next by looking at pictures. The analytics section of AlertRank delivers an interactive set of graphs that let you quickly create a customized view of what people are saying about a wide range of subjects.

  1. Export customized reports to PDF
  2. Select the date range for your analysis
  3. Compare the alert frequency for two different search terms
  4. Set the graphing interval to day, week or month
  5. View the hourly distribution for all alerts or a specific search term
  6. View the top search terms as a pie-chart. Clicking any section of the pie opens the alerts page for that search term.
  7. The Details table gives you a concise summary of all your alerts. Clicking any column heading in this table sorts the results by that column.
  8. Clicking any row of the Details table opens the alerts page for that search term.

The Alert Frequency graph will allow you to compare two different sets of alerts to spot exactly where the buzz is coming from.
